October 2, 2016 - Chiefs vs Steelers734 viewsRoethlisberger didn’t just rain on the Kansas City Chiefs. He made it pour, completing 22 of 27 passes for 300 yards with five touchdowns and no interceptions in the Steelers’ 43-14 victory.
Perhaps it explains why Steelers offensive coordinator Todd Haley said this about Roethlisberger following the home opener against Cincinnati, which was played in similar sloppy weather:
“When you get in conditions like that, I believe Ben’s the best ‘mudder’ in the league,†Haley said. “Sometimes, I root for bad weather.â€
When told he’s considered a tough mudder, Roethlisberger simply smiles and shrugs.
“I’ve been called that for a long time,†Roethlisberger said. “I guess it’s growing up in Northwest Ohio. Just because I’m used to it doesn’t mean I like it.â€
No, seriously.
Roethlisberger said he hates playing in the rain.

March 5, 2008 - Charity Basketball Event1873 viewsSteeler defensive end Brett Keisel was up to his antics again Wednesday Night, this time at the Riverside High School. Antics that included hoisting a lucky fan, this time a young Steeler fan, high above his shoulders for a slam dunk and also throwing down a dunk of his own -- all part of the show the Steeler basketball team put on against the Riverside B.E. Taylor & Company squad.
Keisel and the rest of the Steeler basketball team were joined Wednesday night by quarterback Ben Roethlisberger.
Big Ben played the entire game, showed his hops by throwing down some dunks during the game, and spent half-time signing autographs for the fans.
The Steeler squad consisted of some of the same players that attended Lincoln High School last Friday night along with running back Najah Davenport and Roethlisberger. Proceeds from the event benefited the Riverside girls' varsity softball team.
*Thank you to Trish!!
