March 5, 2008 - Charity Basketball Event1851 viewsSteeler defensive end Brett Keisel was up to his antics again Wednesday Night, this time at the Riverside High School. Antics that included hoisting a lucky fan, this time a young Steeler fan, high above his shoulders for a slam dunk and also throwing down a dunk of his own -- all part of the show the Steeler basketball team put on against the Riverside B.E. Taylor & Company squad.
Keisel and the rest of the Steeler basketball team were joined Wednesday night by quarterback Ben Roethlisberger.
Big Ben played the entire game, showed his hops by throwing down some dunks during the game, and spent half-time signing autographs for the fans.
The Steeler squad consisted of some of the same players that attended Lincoln High School last Friday night along with running back Najah Davenport and Roethlisberger. Proceeds from the event benefited the Riverside girls' varsity softball team.
*Thank you to Trish!!

In memory of Grant Seward517 viewsAt age 22 my son Grant (wearing Ben's jersey) was the biggest fan that Ben and the Steelers could ever have! On Nov 2, 2011 he died.
In his short life he had converted many northern KY families from Bengals to Steelers fans. He would drive hundreds of miles to be in Heinz Field on game day and even to the Superbowl. He loved the Steelers more than anything. He had the Steelers emblem tattooed on his upper arm, banners on the house, Steelers lounge chair, Steelers jerseys, jackets, t-shirts, pants, sheets, pillows, truck emblems, steering wheel and hitch cover, and on and on. It was who he was.
His dream was for me to attend a game at Heinz Field which we had planned to do this year in December against the Bengals. My work schedule had prevented me from attending in the past even though I had wanted to very much. Last night the Steelers played the Bengals at Paul Brown Stadium. Me and my girls went in our Steelers gear in memory of their brother Grant.
Just wanted to thank Ben and the Steelers team for that awesome win. It was such a tribute to my son who I know was there in spirit with a big smile on his face.
